Warehouse & Logistics Operative

By The Horns Brewing Co. are hiring a Warehouse & Logistics Operative to join our small but growing team at our production site in Salfords (Redhill). This role covers all areas of our warehousing and delivery service to local customers, and requires a self-motivated and hands-on individual.

Duties will include:-
– Warehousing responsibilities (3/5 days per week):

  • working alongside our Production Team & Logistics Manager to provide support to packaging and warehousing.
  • Packing shipments for dispatch on the pallet network or by courier
  • Loading pallets for shipment on the pallet network
  • Keeping excellent paperwork records
  • Assisting the Production team with goods in & stock management
  • Keeping a tidy workplace

– Delivery responsibilities (2/5 days per week):

  • Loading and unloading vans for deliveries
  • Driving the van and delivering beer to our customers
  • Representing By The Horns with top customer service skills
  • Maintaining your van and equipment, including vehicle checks
  • Unloading deliveries from our suppliers at our warehouse

The working hours are Monday to Friday and your minimum working hours would be 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. A degree of flexibility and a sense of humour is required as occasionally traffic, vehicles and customers don’t always work to our plan!

Required attributes:

  • Physically fit & healthy, capable of safely moving kegs upto 55kg
  • Clean driving license
  • Able & willing to work in all weathers
  • Must speak fluent English, be over 18 and have right to work in the UK
  • High level of numeracy
  • Computer literate
  • Good people skills and a professional manner
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Able to work under own initiative
  • Good organisational skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent road awareness
  • Willingness to learn

Desired Experience:

  • Experience as a dray person
  • Experience of heavy lifting
  • Previous warehousing experience
  • Forklift / Counterbalance experience
