We understand you want to remain in control of your personal information and we take our responsibilities seriously and comply with all the Data Protection Regulations for England and Wales (including the new regulations known as GDPR for 2018). We can assure you that we only request and retain information that we need to make your buying experience seamless and to get your purchases to you swiftly. We keep your information confidential and do not sell or rent our customers’ personal information to third parties.

  • Customer credit card numbers are never stored by us. We use a third party processor, Paypal who are subject to stringent security policies, to process all payments on the website. Saved credit card information is stored with them, rather than in our own electronic records. We ask customers never to provide us with their credit card number via email or phone, but to purchase securely through the website.

Customer Registration

In order to purchase products and related services through our site, we require you to create an account. This asks you to provide us with essential personal information such as your title, name and your email address.

Making a Purchase

All payments made on the website sometimes require us to take additional details from you including a delivery name and address, and a corresponding billing address. In order to process the payment for your product(s) and delivery we share your name, & address details with our payment processing partner Paypal.

Arranging Delivery

If you purchase product(s), the delivery name and address and sometimes your contact number will be provided to a third party courier company for the sole purpose of delivering the specific purchased product(s).

Your address may also be visible on the shipping labels to employees of the producer from which you have ordered the products. The marketplace model means that items are shipped from the producer’s address, often where the drinks are originally made.

We have contracted assurances that our partners (producers and couriers) agree to not use this information for any other purpose, either in connection with such shipment(s) or separately from such shipment(s). The partners also agree not to separately contact you at any time for any reason. Our current courier partners include ParcelForce, UKMail, CitySprint and UPS. We may use other reputable courier businesses to get your delivery to you in the fastest and most efficient way and you consent to your Delivery Name, Address and Phone Number being shared with our chosen courier party.

Sending Info over Email

We ask customers to maintain their personal information in their account online, however should the need arise to send us information over email so that we can amend an order or verify your age manually, you consent to us also storing this information in our email servers. Please do not send us personal information over email except where required or requested.

Automatic Logging of Session Data

Generic information about your computer’s connection to the Internet, called “session data”, will automatically be logged. This information is anonymous and can not be used to track your personal information. As an By The Horns customer, you may opt in at any time to occasionally receive updates from us about new producers, special offers, new By The Horns services, and other items that may be of interest to you via email, text messages, phone or post. Where previous indication of consent has been provided, it is possible for you to opt out at any time, in order to no longer receive these types of messages either through an opt out feature in the message or through your account settings. We use a third party company in order to manage some of our communications and your email address is therefore shared with MailChimp, a reputable and respected email management company.

Requesting, Updating or Deleting your Information

You can view the majority of information that we hold on your in the Your Account section of the website once you have logged in. Your personal details there can be updated at any time, except for the sales information such as prior delivery addresses and order histories.
